Orderliness – creates a sense of harmony

Orderliness – creates a sense of harmony

8-14 October 2018

Learning that everything has a place as a child is a great foundation for learning that you are in control of elements of your environment and how you can adapt it to create an area which feels clutter free, spacious and freeing.

You learn that the more you practice orderliness around you the more your mind feels lighter as you know where your things are and how easily accessible they are because of the effort you have taken to create that sense or order.

A child can be taught orderliness by learning to put toys, books and activities back in place from where they belong; put their shoes in an orderly structure in their closet, that clothes are packed and hung in certain ways, to put their dirty clothes into the laundry basket, hang their bath towels on the towel rack after using it.

As a young adult they learn about finances and how to keep track of them and diarise dated events like school projects and social outings they have been invited to.

As a role model you guide the next generation and teach them the benefits of practising orderliness whether it be in their home, at their child care centre or within their classroom. As an adult we are mindful of areas in our life that we would like to bring order to – what area in your life do you want to get in order and what steps do you need to take to achieve it?

Self-development means constant transformation and growth throughout your life. Allow the ‘Virtue Of The Week’ to serve as a gentle reminder of who you are, and who you want to be. Contribute by creating the world you want to live in as you are aware of developing your character each week and inspire others to do the same. Be the change you want to see in the world.

Actions to take to practice Humility (5 mins a day max.):

● Every morning:

1. Read the card

2. Reflect on what the card is saying to you right now

3. Have a great day. Trust that at the right time this virtue will come to the front of mind when you need it.

● Every evening:

1. Reflect on whether you implemented this virtue today

2. If you didn’t – what could you do differently next time? If you did – acknowledge it within yourself.
