Courage
Courage is what we all need on numerous occasions throughout our life.
Helping your child to understand that courage is required when they do something that 'stretches' them outside their comfort zone.
It could be learning to be friendly by looking people in the eye when they say hello, please or thank you.
When they go to school and need to raise their hand to ask a question, getting up on stage or speaking in front of the classroom.
Help your child to discover what they have inside them and it's there when they need to call on it. The more they do something the more confident they will become in not only the activity, but themselves.
Of course it's another opportunity to speak about setting boundaries and recognising when they are not comfortable with something or someone, and learning the difference between what feels wrong and what's uncomfortable but doable.
