Congruence – Mindset and Actions
What is congruence?
Congruence is when alignment exists between two or more things. When no issue arises, it means congruence exists. It feels like harmony is in place, and there is agreement all around.
Mindset and actions
One example, a regular everyday example, of congruence is when your mindset and your actions are aligned – or not. For example, if you are hungry, you head to the kitchen to get some food, your mindset and actions are aligned. However, there are times throughout life when conformance between your mind and actions do not exist. This is when there is a conflict between your head and heart.
Focus
When you have your heart set on something, it usually requires some sort of action to take place. Sometimes your head is preventing you from taking action from taking steps because of a thought in your head that is in opposition to the other. Sometimes you know what is preventing you from taking action and sometimes you don’t.
Taking action anyway
Everybody does things which scare them. There is a saying ‘Fake it until you make it’. This saying encourages you to take action anyway. Action is physical. What is holding you back is what is happening mentally – internally. Nobody knows what that is except you. Another famous saying is to ‘Get out of your own way’. So take action anyway. By taking action, you are likely to feel better about yourself and inspire yourself.
The balance of congruence
Being in total congruence is brilliant. It feels like the universe has your back. You actually feel balanced in life when life just flows, and things are working out just as you had hoped. The trick is ensuring that you maintain the balance of the feeling of congruency.
Living a healthy, happy life includes taking care of your body and providing you live by your values. Working on your mindset is how to bring things back into balance so when you are thinking unkind or negative thoughts about your ability, bring ideas back into balance by changing your attitude towards others and yourself – be kind, be kind, be kind.
